TERRA was retained by Chicago Park District to provide civil engineering, landscape architecture and construction administration services for the site development of an athletic complex in Lincoln Park.

TERRA served as the prime consultant on this project, overseeing and coordinating the completion of site surveying and geotechnical analysis. TERRA also conducted extensive research to select an appropriate artificial playing surface product that aligns with the CPD maintenance program, and minimizes its impact on the site.

TERRA understands responsible soil management is a key factor in managing construction costs. Utilizing computer modeling software, Civil 3D, TERRA performed a cut/fill analysis to provide estimates of soil haul-off. Our iterative design process and soils analysis had enabled us to engineer the project to zero haul-off and realize large cost savings to the park district.

TERRA completed a complex stormwater management plan for the site which focused on minimizing the development’s impact on City of Chicago infrastructure. A comprehensive landscape plan will bring new life to the park, while respecting the historic design and context of the site.
