TERRA was responsible for the site development, landscape architecture and surveying for the Mile Square Health Center in Chicago. The site is located on a 2.11-acre parcel of land located at the intersection of Roosevelt Road and Wood Street. The LEED certified project development consists of a new medical office building, parking lot, loading dock area, and pedestrian walkways.

The design team engineered a site plan to accommodate the construction of the new medical office building, including the engineering of the parking lot and pedestrian areas. New pavements, curb and gutter, and concrete driveways were designed to accommodate new site amenities and meet the latest City of Chicago and Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) requirements. Other engineering services included a stormwater management plan, site grading, and utility coordination.

The landscape architectural team proposed a design that complemented both the architecture of the new medical office building and the proposed site plan. Site plantings, parking lot plantings, and supplemental parkway trees were included as part of the landscape improvements. In addition, many landscape amenities were proposed, including concrete seat walls, an enhanced entry plaza, and multiple gathering / seating opportunities for visitors and staff.
