MILWAUKEE – On Wednesday, June 11, TERRA Engineering, Ltd.’s staff joined Mayor Tom Barrett, Alderman Bob Bauman, the Department of Public Works, and Historic Third Ward business representatives at Riverwalk Park to celebrate the ribbon-cutting and grand reopening of the City of Milwaukee’s St. Paul Avenue lift bridge. Since July 2013, TERRA has provided structural engineering, bridge inspection and construction management services for the complete rehabilitation and replacement of the St. Paul Avenue lift bridge over the Milwaukee River.

Jamil Bou-Saab, TERRA’s executive vice president, said, “The St. Paul Avenue lift bridge serves Milwaukee’s Third Ward as a vital link across the Milwaukee River.”

TERRA’s team of engineers was retained by the City of Milwaukee to oversee the construction of the project on an accelerated, 10-month schedule. As part of this project, TERRA was responsible for overseeing the replacement or rehabilitation of structural steel, concrete pavement, approach spans, bridge decking, bridge house, electrical, mechanical and hydraulics systems.
