TERRA was responsible for the design of site improvements and landscape zoning compliance for a new annex addition to an existing Chicago Public School. The project is tracking minimum LEED for Schools Silver certification. The annex addition creates a new courtyard garden with permeable paving that is the centerpiece of the design and offers a space for students and teachers and attractive space congregate and sit. The raised planters and foundation landscaping features native plant species. Rainwater is harvested from the extensive green roof in two wooden cisterns for use in watering the site landscaping.
