TERRA collaborated with the Illinois Institute of Technology TERRA provided award-winning engineering solutions for Benito Juarez Community Academy’s building addition, classroom link, plaza and artificial turf athletic fields. With the school located over two vacated streets, West 21st Place and South Laflin Street, our team was sensitive toward protecting the City of Chicago’s underground utilities. TERRA coordinated the project’s designed with the adjacent Cermak Road streetscape project. The project received the American Society of Civil Engineers’ (ASCE) Sustainability in Civil Engineering Award in 2012.
